James Perez

James Perez is a vocalist, composer, educator and multi-instrumentalist from the San Francisco Bay Area. James has been performing and teaching for over 15 years, performing a multitude of musical styles ranging from acapella, choral, classical, pop, rock, indie, folk and jazz. He had received his education (Bachelor of Arts, Music) in Vocal Performance from Cal State East Bay, Hayward and Las Positas College in Livermore, under the tutelage of vocal instructors Christine Abraham, Ash Walker, and Ian Brekke.

As a teacher, James focuses on overall musicianship, music theory, vocal health, vocal control, breath control and ear training to give his students the edge they need to be a successful and great sounding vocalist.

James is excited to be teaching at JAMS Music, ready to share his passion with you. He is available to teach children and adults vocal lessons.

Nicole Dayton

Vocals & Piano

Nicole Dayton, recently finished her master’s program at the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a graduate certificate in vocal pedagogy. Originally from Dublin, CA she enjoyed local theatrical and performing opportunities, but was not interested in pursuing the arts until her friend convinced her to join the opera chorus of Puccini’s La Bohème at Brigham Young University. She has recently been seen as Blanche in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Louise Thaden in a workshop production of Lisa Despain and Rachel Peters’ Staggerwing and La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi. She has directed a variety of roles in opera scenes at Brigham Young University including scenes from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Bizet’s Carmen and Mozart’s Così fan tutte. She enjoyed three years as a member of the flagship, international award-winning choral ensemble, BYU Singers, and has sung for three years with the Spoleto Festival USA Chorus in Charleston, SC. She has been teaching private voice and piano for over five years and is thrilled to be joining the team at JAMS.
